THE SMILEMAKER Zia Rafiq, DDS
Dr. Z was born in Detroit and raised in the suburbs. He received his dental degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1995. After graduation he completed an intense hospital residency program in Syracuse, New York. There he learned how to deal with some of the most broken down mouths imaginable. Following the residency he was asked and accepted to teach first year dental students at the University of Michigan. During this period he took the Florida board exam and passed. In Florida he began his quest into what patients wanted from a dental experience. By finding out the various fears of patients, he began to develop the ultimate dental experience! In May of 2000, after two and a half years of hands on research, he perfected the experience.
Dr. Z came back home to Michigan and began his own office in West Dearborn. After being introduced to lasers and the miracles that they can perform, he knew that this was the future of dentistry and the perfect fit for his practice. He now incorporates lasers and the benefits they provide to his patients for no extra charge. He simply wants to provide the best.
Dr. Z is married and has two beautiful children. His hobbies include photography, traveling, fishing, remote control cars and working out.

She was born in Dearborn at Oakwood hospital. She has been in the dental field for several years and enjoys the challenges of dentistry especially cosmetics. She has a special way about her that makes patients feel very comfortable as if they are speaking to an old friend.
Michelle has two children. Her hobbies and interests include photography, scrapbooking and spending time with her family.

Marty has lived in the local area most of her life. Being one of the elder children of a large family, she has always been a care giver. With 20 plus years experience in the dental field, you can be assured, she will give you the best care possible.
In her spare time, she enjoys designing door wreaths, working in the yard, and entertaining herself on her computer. The fun begins on Friday, this is the day Marty spends with her four grandkids.

She Graduated from University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry with a Bachelors of Science and Dental Hygiene Degree. Her Favorite part of the job is building relationships with patients and educating them how to prevent oral diseases, such as cavities or periodontal disease. In her spare time she enjoys photography, boating, camping, snowboarding and spending time with her family and friends. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you achieve good oral health!
